Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen opens the Norgan region on October 9.

Norgan is built for experienced characters

The expansion’s new region, Norgan, is a snowbound area designed for high-level characters rather than a fresh beginning. Its own story is expected to run about 20 hours, giving returning players a substantial new campaign instead of a short side route.

Dark Arisen also introduces more hack-and-slash-style gameplay elements. That should make the expansion feel faster and more direct in combat while still sitting inside Dragon’s Dogma 2’s action-RPG foundation.

Relics change the build

New Relics equipment is designed to affect both combat and progression. Rather than acting as another ordinary gear tier, Relics give high-level players a new system to build around as they move through Norgan.

That makes the expansion’s progression loop important even for characters who already have strong late-game equipment: the point is not only bigger numbers, but new ways to shape a fighting style.

Twelve Lost Rites dungeons

Dark Arisen adds 12 Lost Rites dungeons, each built around its own monsters and mechanics. The setup gives the expansion repeatable challenges alongside the main storyline, with each dungeon expected to ask for a different approach.

For players arriving at the expansion with a developed party, the combination of unique dungeon rules and Relics creates the clearest reason to keep experimenting after the story ends.

Platforms, price, and Switch 2

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches October 9 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. The expansion costs $29.99.

The base version of Dragon’s Dogma 2 also arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 the same day, opening the full game and its expansion to a new platform at once.

The bottom line

Norgan is not pitched as a beginner zone. Dark Arisen is aimed at players who want a difficult new region, a full follow-up story, and endgame systems that can reshape an established character.
