IllFonic's kicking off a year of post-launch content with a free map inspired by Halloween 5, plus paid Michael Myers skins and new playable survivors.
What's coming October 27
IllFonic announced the first DLC drop for Halloween: The Game on October 5, and it's landing October 27, 2026 — four days before Halloween, which is about as on-the-nose as it gets. This kicks off a year-one post-launch roadmap for the asymmetrical horror title.
The headline is the free part: every owner gets Map #5, “The Tower Farm,” inspired by Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989). It's a farming community on the outskirts of Haddonfield — cornfields, barns, a filling station, and a harvest festival. Perfect hunting grounds.
The paid packs
Alongside the free map, three paid packs drop at $9.99 each:
Two new Michael Myers skins — one based on Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers and one on Halloween (2018), with the 2018 mask supervised by Oscar winner Christopher Nelson. The Civilian Characters Pack adds two new playable survivors, Michelle and Eugene. And Civilian Costumes Pack 1 brings 14 outfits with 42 tints. Free quality-of-life updates and fixes ship alongside.
The game so far
The base game launched digitally September 8, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic), with a physical release October 6 — $39.99 Standard, $59.99 Deluxe. Reception has been mixed; VGC's single-player review landed somewhere around a 3 out of 10 but noted the game's “B-movie charm.” These are the kinds of games that live or die on their post-launch support, so a strong first DLC matters.
KongMNG's take
Making the map free was the right call — splitting the player base on maps this early would've killed the game. And dropping it four days before Halloween? That's marketing you can't buy. IllFonic knows horror — they made Friday the 13th work — so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on the roadmap. If you bounced off the launch, October 27 might be worth a second look.
